My poor special precious Honey Bunny girl. She is just tuckered out. First a bath and then a practice session with a harness and leash..After a sugar high from all the treats we tried to use to balance the work with the harness, I think she just tuckered herself out. She cuddled up with us on the sofa and went off to dreamland..snoooozing away! Our local town is going to have a pet fair tomorrow and we are going to take Honey. She is normally very gentle and kind and had no problem dealing with other animals or people so we will give it a whirl.
Our Coatikids are always a crowd pleaser and alot of fun to bring out. Looking forward to a fun day tomorrow.

Coatikids Make the Move to the Coati Cottage
Although we are still working on the inside, the weather is great and it gives our CoatiKids more freedom to move about 24/7. We let them move in for now. We have plans to build an outdoor tree house in the patio area for them to nap in on hot summer nights. The box you see in the picture is the insulated house body. We will mount it on the tree stump and add a balcony with lots of climbing stairs around it.
The plans for the inside are pretty much the same except less wood and more wire shelves converted from a jungle gym of climbing and nesting areas with stuffed pillows and pet sleeping bags.
During the summer we will have a swimming pool for them and of course there will be plenty of toys and treats.
Coati Cottage is at 98% done!
We managed to finish the exterior. I absolutely love the color we picked for the inside. If you can’t tell from the picture it is a soft pastel green, not baby puke green, which would be nasty LOL. Kerry brought a nice heavy very attractive cement bench for us to sit inside the pen with our CoatiKids. The floor and outside walls are painted to match our house. I would love to paint a jungle mural on the walls inside and out, but I am not the best artist. We added the automatic water thing Kerry designed and heater inside, a few toys and an insulated clubhouse and inside nesting/sleeping area. We still have much to do to furnish the inside to provide them with lots of activities. More Photographs coming soon……..

New Coatikid on the block!
Ok so it’s not a block, it’s our home and our Blog, but the title sounded good and I am probably telling on my age.
It’s with great pride..I would like to introduce our newest Coatikid! Meet Honey She is a female Mountain Coati, just like Bonnie and Clyde (only with a full tail Yeah!). Honey is an adoption from a loving home. Honey has been well cared for and loved. Honey quickly won the good health approval from our Coati Vet. I hope she finds our home just as loving and enjoys getting to know her new Coati brothers and sisters. I know my babies are fur kids, but to me this adoption is just has real to me as a human child adoption. With all that said, Welcome to the family Honey! I am sure she will quickly learn to use the computer and have plenty to say. Honey is very beautiful and has a wonderful personality. We are still getting to know each other but we are quickly learning she is a real snuggle bug. I see many fun times ahead at the Coati Cottage!
CoatiMan’s gotta do what a CoatiMan’s gotta Do…….
Remember me I’m the muscleman around this house! For frickin sakes a CoatiMan needs his privacy……I must dress to impress and have a smellie gooooood tail for that little cutie pie Raven……Man,is she a doll or what? Lets see I need a few things….hmmmmm some soap and CoatiDaddy’s tooth brush will do nicely for starters…Oh and some smellie good lotions for my tail…..That oughta get Raven’s attention on me and not Ole Clyde…( He is always trying to impress my girl, I know he is, he can’t fool me)….. Now.. lets.. see.. One..last..thing ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
CLOSE THE FRICKIN DOOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CoatiMom’s Baby Book Part 4- Bonnie and Clyde 1st. day home
It’s so hard to believe that my precious babies are all grown up! They are mischievous, somethings never change…..The only thing that does is the upper body strength they seem to get as they grow. All the cute little coati games we played while they where baby have changed they can now leap amazing lengths, unscrew jar lids and open doors if they get a handle on them. They can even move small piece of furniture! Gotta luv those coatis, there body’s may grow but there little hearts never change. They will always be my Coatikids…………
Coati Cottage still coming along
Well this weather is really not making me happy. I feels like forever since we started this project. The freezing temps and snow have made things go really slow. The guys did come back this week and put the first layer of the roof on. It still needs to be insulated and the double inside doors put in. We also started on our tortoise barn and are in the same place. Once the contractors finish we still need to built the swings and furniture inside, run electric and plumbing in both places too….I guess I should count my blessings that I’m getting such great habitats for my babies, I just got so excited when we started these projects that I want them nnnooowwwwwwww! (yep, I am channeling Verruca Salt)
New Coati Kids Cottage in the making..
I am pretty excited about our babies getting a new house. I am also pretty sad about it too. The Coatikids will be only a few steps from by back porch. It will seem so strange not to share living quarters with them. I know they will be much happier. They will not have to sleep in cages or be put up in cages if we leave the house. My Coatikids will have their own indoor bedrooms with built in cushy sky beds, play and climbing areas, indoor plumbing and heat. They will also have a huge outdoor enclosures to climb and play in. No more changing smelly puppy pads!!!! They will have concrete floors with drains in them to wash everyday. The contractors started a few days ago and have made pretty good timing. They should be finished with the basic construction next week sometime. Then we will finish it up by adding the outdoor fence wires, painting and sealing the cement. Next comes the fun part building the coati furniture. It will be nice to be able to bring them inside one by one for visits and even more fun will be hanging out in the enclosure with them. The ceiling will be close to ten feet tall! Oh and one of the best features will be a mud free swimming pool for summer times……Here’s a few of the construction pics.
